Behavior Management Specialist (BMS)
Position Requirements:
Behavior Intervention Case Manager (BICM)
certificate or equivalent training or training
in process
Experience working with special education
or students with other special needs
Master's degree in behavior analysis,
school psychology or related field desirable.
Valid California Driver's License
SUPERVISOR: John Martinez, Principal
LOCATION: Mountain View Jr. High
SALARY: $65,812 - $74,084 plus $2,000
for Master's Degree
SCHEDULE: 181 Working Days
Essential Functions
Promotes positive social and emotional
environment conducive to teaching and
learning by providing behavioral consultation,
training, and support
Consults with administrators, directors,
psychologists, teachers, paraprofessionals,
parents/guardians, related service providers
and appropriate others to provide support
for implementing programs for challenging
students on a student-by-student basis
Promote positive support intervention for
students
Small group and individual academic counseling
Provide individual and/or group counseling
to assist in remediating social, emotional
and/or learning problems
Parent involvement
Develop and implement positive support
behavior plans for all students
Attend Student Study Team meetings and other
job-related meetings along with serving on
district level committees as assigned
Maintains and submits required records and
reports with reasonable accuracy and
promptness
Special Education assessments and
completing IEP's
Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws,
codes, rules, policies and other printed matter
Ability to hear and understand speech at
normal levels
Interpret assessment data and develop written
IEP's and explain data to IEP Team for
determining education placement for students
Strong relationship-building and interpersonal
communication skills
Ability to understand, speak and write Spanish
and English
